CTI Releases Comprehensive Legionellosis Guideline!

The Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) is pleased to announce the release of Guideline (GDL) 159 – Practices to Reduce the Risk of Legionellosis from Evaporative Heat Rejection Equipment Systems. This new document provides comprehensive guidance specifically for Owners, Operators, Water Treatment Professionals, and others involved in the monitoring and care of cooling systems utilizing evaporative heat rejection. GDL-159 was developed by a committee of Industry professionals, including water treaters, microbiologists, manufacturers, suppliers, and equipment owners and operators per the CTI consensus-based approval process. The guideline covers such areas as basic Legionella microbiology, risk assessment, general maintenance and inspection, equipment operations, and record keeping. GDL-159 can be used as a resource in the development of Water Management Plans, such as those required by ASHRAE Standard 188-2018, Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems.
